What is a Turkish Bath?
We can say that the Turkish bath is a source of inner well-being, but it also helps to improve our physical appearance.
Among the benefits of the steam bath we find the dilatation of the pores, which facilitates the penetration of steam, allowing the epidermis to eliminate impurities. But also, providing luminosity, softness and elasticity to the skin.
It is a treatment applicable to all ages, since it is an excellent regulator of pressure, in addition to preventing respiratory tract conditions.
When we set out to take a Turkish bath, the choice of the moment and how to do it is very personal. However, we can take some advice into account.
Although, the temperature of the steam baths is lower than that used in the saunas, since the residence time is greater the sweating in the Turkish baths is also higher.
It is for them, that it is recommended to drink water and hydrate before starting the Turkish bath, with the intention of avoiding dehydration.
Then, you should take a warm shower and dry well, in addition to perform a foot bath to warm up the extremities.
The first phase of the Turkish bath, consists of heating, with a duration of 15-20 minutes. It is necessary to remain in a sitting and semi-stretched position, naked or covered with breathable fabrics. It ends with a fresh shower and a few minutes of relaxation on a lounger.
In the second phase the cooling is carried out, with a quick shower to tone the body again.
Finally, in the third phase, another bath of 15-20 minutes is repeated and its subsequent cooling.
During the whole process it is important to recover liquids, drinking water, juices or infusions. Nor is it recommended to have an empty stomach or too full, so the ideal is a fresh and light snack.
