Previously we talked about the multiple benefits of spas, as well as their origins or the treatments that we can find. However, oddly enough, there are many very curious data to know about spas.
Curious data of the spas
For example, we have talked about the origins of spas emerged through the Roman baths that have evolved to the present.
But, do you know which spa is the oldest in Spain? It is the Balneario de Graena, located in Granada. The same was sent to build under the ordinances of Queen Elizabeth, in the year 1495.
Also, not only do the spas have to be artificially constructed, since nature has given us the best thermal springs.
The hot springs are hot water lakes that are born under the earth’s surface and ascend until they reach the surface of the same.
Specifically, Iceland is the country that has the largest number of hot springs. The most outstanding and tourist, is the so-called “Blue Lagoon”.
On the other hand, very close to Budapest, is Lake Heviz.
Which, due to its volcanic origin and its water, slightly, radioactive and sulphurous, has numerous healing properties.
It is said to be ideal for rheumatic diseases, disorders of the nervous system, gynecological problems, and even for muscular locomotor diseases.
So far, we have talked about lakes, but can there be a hot spring beach?
The answer is yes, it is known as “Hot Water Beach”, and is located in New Zealand.
This is possible because it is a volcanic zone and the groundwater seeps through the sand to the surface.
The most curious thing is that not only human beings like spas to seek maximum relaxation.
We refer to the Jigokudani Monkey Park in Japan. Where the monkeys usually meet to take hot water baths as a distraction and relaxation.
Did you know all this information? Not only can we say that they are curious, but they are also quite unknown.
